Good Novel Goes Bad.

I have loved the whole Lexy Baker series until now. As always, the plotting is tight and the story moves right along. I enjoy the quality of writing that Dobbs has placed before us.
I am sorry to say that I was extremely disappointed with the ending on this one. I don't want to write any spoilers but the main characters have now taken on character traits that I find disappointing with any detective, or any human being for that matter. SEMI-SPOILER ALERT: (I'm sorry. I can't voice my concern without leaking something of the ending.) I was disappointed that a person who was a hired assassin and who had killed a number of people for hire was protected and allowed to go free just because the last person they killed was a nasty person. I will admit that the purpose was supposedly to keep the neighborhood together. Yet this assassin was not a member of the neighborhood until after the killing, although most people didn't know that. Furthermore, that is not an adequate reason for a killer to go free. Lastly, an implied reason to allow the assassin to go free was that the crime had occurred decades earlier and that the assassin had not killed anyone in the meantime. If that were to have been viable, there would have been a statute of limitations on murder. I am not aware of a statute of limitations on murder anywhere in the United States.
Furthermore,one character exhibited a startling change in the personality for no reason that I could understand near the end of the story. I think that this was totally unaccounted for.
I intend to continue reading Lexy Baker mysteries but please, Ms. Dobbs, show them tracking down and turning the criminal over to the police in future novels instead of becoming a "law unto themselves".

This Series Never Disappoints

This was Book 10 in the Lexy Baker series and it didn't disappoint. Lexy and the gang have a new case to solve. There are quite a few twists and turns, many really had me thinking. I applaud Leighann Dobbs for another excellent story. This book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend the series.

I really like these "cozy" mysteries

I really like these "cozy" mysteries. The senior contigent really is hilarious and gives all hope for our aging years, mixing in alittle romance and COOKIES an added bonus. This time around Jack and Lexy find a mummy in Jack's basement. How did it get there and why had no one smelled something fishy(or at least dead)or reported missing? you will have to read to find out plus you get recipes!
