About the Author
Dr. Jonathan E. Aviv, MD, FACS is the Clinical Director and founder of the Voice and Swallowing Center at ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP in New York City. He is also Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and an Attending Physician in The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Dr. Aviv is the former Director, Division of Head and Neck Surgery, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University.
He is the inventor and developer of the endoscopic air-pulse laryngeal sensory testing technology, known as FEESST. Dr. Aviv has authored over 60 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and has written two medical text books entitled Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing with Sensory Testing (FEESST) and Atlas of Transnasal Esophagoscopy. Dr. Aviv is Past President of the American Broncho-Esophagological Association and the New York Laryngological Society, and former Chairman of the Speech, Voice and Swallowing Disorders Committee, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Aviv has been in New York Magazine’s “Best Doctors” 1998–2013, Best Doctors in America 2004–2013, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering. Initial skeptic into a believer

Over the last several years, my acid reflux would force me to sleep on my back in a slightly inclined position- usually using 2-3 pillows to sleep in almost a semi “upright” position. Dr. Aviv’s “Non-Negotiables” list of what not to eat or drink for his Acid Watcher Diet is worth the price alone of this book. I will keep you updated as I believe there are many, many people who have to be aware that you can get relief from acid reflux disease, even if you have suffered for a very long time from it as I have.

Incredible book for acid reflux sufferers

As a composer and producer of music who is constantly working with performers, I was recommended this book from a singer who started following the AcidWatcher diet in the book and had her acid reflux almost completely go away after 3 weeks. I bought it for my uncle who also said it was fantastic - especially because the Doctor explains everything so clearly. I would recommend this book for anyone who suffers from acid reflux disease, especially performers and singers, or for that matter anyone who needs their voice to be in top form to earn their living.

Amazing!!!

As a reflux sufferer this book was very helpful; powerful, even. It left a lasting impression in my life! Whilst reading, I was following the nutrition tricks and tips that helped me along the way. I have to say, I am no chef. As I also work long hours, I do not have time for much, including preparing food at times. I found it extremely easy to follow the recipes.
They are not only nutritious, but delicious! And, they are also not time-consuming at all. Dr. Aviv has also kindly wrote the book in terms were ANYONE can understand. This was a plus for me because as many books I have read on the subject, I found it hard to follow due to all the medical vernacular. The fact that he incorporated his personal experience with acid reflux was another point that made me believe that I, too, can get through this. IT WAS VERY INSPIRING!!!
I would recommend this book as the end-all-be-all to anyone who is suffering from this condition.
